It is again the end of another semester at school and it seems to have past by in a flash. I had told myself I would post these artworks as I made them as to keep a sort of diary but with all the business of life I got caught up in other things and never got to blogging...guess its still something new to me and so not yet part of my routine. Also I lost my camera and have not till now gotten a new one so that didn't help out too much either. So I display the work I have done over the last few months all at once because I know if I don't now it may again be a few months down the road that I get to it. Some of these pieces have been made for class projects and others have been made simply for pleasure. So I hope you all enjoy my work and I hope to now begin blogging more regularly about my artwork.

Drawings and Paintings

These are a few randomly selected art pieces of mine done throughout the last year. As I uploaded these I was definitely realizing how much I need to learn about taking photos of my artwork. Also getting photoshop sure wouldn't hurt to help with the lighting and such on the photos. If anyone has any feedback about how I could better display my art please let me know because I am new at this! From now on I will be blogging as I am working on my pieces so they will be up to date, a sort of diary of my life! Enjoy!
A New Begining
Today I am beginning this blog thanks to a very close friend and wonderfully talented artist of mine who has motivated me to showcase my art. I have been putting this off over and over again because I have simply felt that my art was not ready. However one of my painting teachers has been speaking a lot about when a piece of art is really done. Picasso once stated that "to finish a work? To finish a picture? What nonsense! To finish it means to be through with it, to kill it, to rid it of its soul, to give it its final blow ... the coup de grĂ¢ce for the painter as well as for the picture". This brings me to ask myself: is a painting, a drawing, ever truly finished? As an artist I have always been uncertain about when to leave a certain piece alone. Looking back I cannot ever recall leaving a piece of art thinking yes it has all it needs! It has more so felt as an abandonment. A sort of moving on not because there is nothing left to be done but because life must move forward. This new train of though has allowed me to embrace the process of art. In every stage of my art is beauty. It begins as an idea trapped inside me and slowly it is unleashed on to paper and bit by bit it grows. I do not create art for its final product but for the simple love I hold for expressing the beauty I see around me. For me my art is my story, the diary of my life and that is not something which ends it is ongoing. So whether I feel that all of these pieces of art are at their greatest or not they are all beautiful in their own respects for they all hold their own story.
